Do I always have to pay the parking fine?
Yes, even if you intend to challenge the parking fine, you must always pay it. If your objection is accepted, the amount you paid will be transferred to your bank account.
You can pay the parking fine immediately after you receive it, or you can wait until you receive a duplicate additional assessment from us. This will arrive usually within 2 weeks. The assessment contains detailed information about how you should pay the fine.
Is there any other way I can lodge an objection?
Yes, certainly. You can also lodge an objection in writing. Explain clearly why you are challenging the parking fine. State your name, address and car registration. Send your objection to Gemeente Eindhoven, afdeling Heffingen en Invordering, Postbus 90150, 5600 RB Eindhoven.
Bear in mind that you must lodge your objection within 6 weeks of receiving the parking fine.
Which documentary evidence should I include with my objection?
Please provide the following documents with your objection:
- parking receipt (parking ticket or proof of digital application with personal identification);
- photos, if they clarify the situation;
- bank statement proving the purchase of the parking ticket (your name on the statement had to be visible).
When will I receive an answer to my objection?
We will deal with your objection no later than 31 December. This is the statutory time limit for a decision. Unless you object in the last 6 weeks of this year. Then the objection is settled within 6 weeks after the objection period
Of course, we will do our utmost to settle your objection as soon as possible. You will receive the decision by post.
What is a duplicate additional assessment?
The parking fine falls within the municipal taxes, and is officially known as an 'additional assessment parking tax'.
We send a duplicate (copy) of the parking fine to the address of the person the vehicle is registered to. This copy is officially known as a 'duplicate additional assessment parking tax' and contains the same information as the parking fine.
