Which data is shared?
In the implementation of its legal duties, it may be necessary for Eindhoven Municipality to share data, personal and other, with third parties such as other municipalities, the province, the government, the Public Prosecutor's Office and the police. This is done only if there are legal grounds present, as described in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), if necessary in combination with a cooperation agreement.
How do I know whether my data is being processed?
In principle, Eindhoven Municipality informs those involved if their data is to be processed.
Is my personal data properly protected?
Yes. Eindhoven Municipality ensures appropriate security for all personal data in its possession, in line with the applicable current legal requirements and guidelines.

What is the retention period for personal data?
Eindhoven Municipality only retains the personal data it processes for as long as is necessary to achieve the aim of the data processing, or for the period required on other grounds (such as archiving and statistical research).
What are my privacy rights?
There are different kinds of privacy rights: you'll find more information about them at Dutch DPA.
One of your rights is the right to view, correct or remove your personal data . To do this, you can make an appointment at the Municipality. Mention which of the privacy rights you want to make use of. Make sure you bring your passport or identity card, because you must be able to prove that the data you wish to view, correct or remove is really your data. You are not permitted to view other people's data.
Can I lodge an objection to the processing of personal data?

Videocamera's bij verkeerslichten in de gemeente Eindhoven
De gemeente Eindhoven zet videocamera’s in om in kaart te brengen hoe het verkeer doorstroomt op kruispunten die met verkeerslichten zijn geregeld. Op 30 kruispunten hangt een camera (situatie november 2019). De verwachting is dat er elk jaar bij gemiddeld 10 kruispunten een camera wordt toegevoegd.
Welke maatregelen nemen wij voor de privacy van inwoners?
De gemeente weet dat camera’s de privacy van inwoners kunnen schenden. Daarom maken wij een goede afweging tussen het doel van de camera en jouw privacy. Hiervoor nemen wij de volgende maatregelen:
- De Functionaris voor de Gegevensbescherming (FG) controleert aan de hand van de Algemene Verordening Gegevens bescherming (AVG) hoe en waarom de camera’s gebruikt worden. Wij gebruiken geen camera’s als de FG daar geen toestemming voor geeft.
- Er wordt alleen “live” meegekeken met de beelden. Dit gebeurt één keer per jaar, gedurende enkele uren en als er sprake is van klachten over de betreffende verkeerslichten.
- Alleen een beperkt aantal medewerkers van de afdeling Verkeer, Milieu en Duurzaamheid heeft toegang tot de camerabeelden. Dit gebeurt via een veilige omgeving ( zij gebruiken hiervooreen gebruikersnaam en wachtwoord).
- De camerabeelden worden niet opgeslagen.
Wat doen we met de beelden?
Eén keer per jaar wordt gecontroleerd of de verkeerslichten goed zijn afgestemd op het verkeersaanbod. Ook gebruiken we de beelden als er klachten zijn over de verkeerslichten. Met de camerabeelden controleren wij:
- of de groentijd voor voetgangers lang genoeg is om een veilige oversteek te kunnen maken;
- of de groenfase voor autoverkeer lang genoeg is om de wachtrij zonder filevorming te laten afwikkelen;
- hoeveel voertuigen er in een wachtrij staan;
- hoeveel fietsers er staan te wachten als het verkeerslicht groen wordt;
- of bij een groene golf een peloton voertuigen zonder stoppen kan passeren;
- of bussen met de gewenste prioriteit afgewikkeld worden.
