I have not been sent a tax bill. What should I do?
If you registered through MijnOverheid.nl for the Berichtenbox, you will find your tax bill and any reminders there, digitally. You therefore will not receive these by post any more. Would you like to be notified if there is mail from MijnOverheid for you in your Berichtenbox? Activate the email notification.
You did not register for the Berichtenbox and you also have not received a tax bill by post? Please get in touch with us by telephone at 14 040.
Is it possible that I am paying more OZB this year?
Yes, that is possible. The reason for that is on the one hand, that the property market is buoyant meaning that the value of most properties has increased, and on the other hand, that the OZB (property tax) has gone up. Eindhoven managed to keep the OZB-rates low for a long time. But now that the municipality's healthcare costs are much higher than budgeted in the last year, we have taken measures on the sides of both the income and the expenditure. We are curbing healthcare costs and have brought the OZB rate into line with the average of the other 40 large municipalities in the Netherlands.
I disagree with the amount of the WOZ value. What can I do?
Get in touch with us at 14 040. We are happy to discuss the matter with you and if necessary, we will make an appointment to come and appraise the home. After that, if you still decide to lodge an objection, you can do that online or in writing up to six weeks after the date on the tax bill.
I disagree with the amount of my tax bill. How do I lodge an objection?
Can I apply for a waiver?
In how many instalments may I pay?
You may pay your municipal taxes in no more than 10 instalments. If you authorise us to deduct the direct debit immediately on receipt of the tax bill, you will be allowed to pay in 10 instalments. However, if you wait until two months after receipt of the tax bill to authorise us, we will deduct the remaining amount in 8 instalments.
The direct debit has not succeeded. Will you try again?
No, we try only once a month. If one instalment of the direct debit fails, we divide the amount of that instalment among the remaining months and your monthly instalment becomes higher in proportion. If two instalments of the direct debit fail, the authorisation lapses and you are required to pay the total amount immediately.
The direct debit is deducted on the last working day of the month.
I have moved house out of Eindhoven. Why am I still paying a waste collection charge?
The total amount of your waste collection charge is reduced from the first full month you longer live in Eindhoven, so the periodic charge is lower, but the direct debit continues for the remaining instalments.
I have sold my house and no longer live in Eindhoven, yet I am still paying municipal taxes. How is that possible?
In the case of an owner-occupier house, the person who owns the property on 1 January must pay the OZB and sewage charge for the whole year. It is customary for your lawyer to arrange these charges with the new owner. Important: if this is not the case, the municipality is not involved in this!
If you buy a house in Eindhoven Municipality, you will receive no tax bill for the new home from us for that year.
I would like to receive my tax bill digitally from now on. Where can I arrange that?
I do not see my question here. What should I do?
Phone our Callcenter at 14 040. They will be happy to help you.
