What does the green policy plan contain?
The green policy plan tells the story of the origin of Eindhoven, explains the value of green and our ambitions for green in Eindhoven. The plan is generously illustrated with maps which show how the city developed, and with photos which prove that a city that leads the world in technology can also be really green.

Which plants and animals can be found in my neighbourhood?
The biodiversity field guide gives you information about plants and animals to be found in your neighbourhood. It also contains tip on how you can increase the varieties of plants and animals present. Useful if you're working on a project in the garden, at school or in construction.
I would like more greenery in the neighbourhood. How do I go about that?
Would you like to see more green on the street in your neighbourhood? There are various ways you can do something about that yourself. You could, for example, create a façade garden or landscape around a tree. You can find more information about the possibilities at Operatie Steenbreek (Operation Less Paving).
How does the municipality maintain the grass in the city?
We make a distinction in Eindhoven between 'short or lawn grass' and 'wild flower grass'. You'll see short grass in parks, for example, where sports are played and in picnic spots. You'll also see short grass in verges where good visibility is important for the traffic.
Wild flower grass is taller grass that can be found in verges, on the banks of water areas, in parts of parks where sports are not played and in the outer areas. Tall grass attracts all sorts of insects, butterflies, birds and soil fauna. Wild flower grass is also beneficial to the trees, which profit from an aerated and nutritious soil. Also, less damage is done to the surface roots by the mowers.
Short grass is mown regularly in the summer. We discuss with the contractor the maximum height the grass should be. The number of times it is mown depends on the rate at which the grass grows. Wild flower grass is mown on average once or twice a year. We take care that the grass doesn't grow too high, with an eye to traffic safety. So wild flower grass not only brings us a greater biodiversity (range of species), it also results in a reduction in costs.
Where can I find information about parks in Eindhoven?
Eindhoven has a number of large and small parks, each with its own history, and its own features. You will find more information about the city’s various parks on the tourist website thisiseindhoven.nl.
Where can I go if I have a conflict with the municipality about greenery?
Where there are conflicts between the municipality and interested parties such as residents, organisations and businesses, Trefpunt Groen acts as a mediator. This meeting point offers solicited and unsolicited advice about nature, environment, ecology, sustainability and cultural history, in close collaboration with groups and individuals.
