Legalising a signature

Step by step

  1. First you make an appointment or pop in to the Resident's Plaza without an appointment.
  2. You bring the document requiring your signature to the appropriate counter.
  3. You sign the document in the presence of a member of staff.
  4. The staff member subsequently draws up a statement declaring that it is your signature.
  5. The staff member signs the statement on behalf of the mayor.

If you need to prove that the signature on a document is yours, you can have us legalise your signature. You sign the document in the presence of the staff member. He or she checks your signature using your identity document. If the signatures are the same, he or she puts an official stamp on the document and with that, your signature is legalised. To legalise a signature, you must make an appointment. Or just pop in to the Residents' Plaza, without an appointment, on any working day between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
