Confidentiality of my details in the BRP (Key Register of Persons)

All Dutch people’s personal details are recorded in the Key Register of Persons (BRP). This database is used by a variety of organisations. You can request that the municipality does not provide your details to certain other organisations. This might be necessary if you are living in the blijf van mijn lijfhuis (a women's shelter), for example. If you have requested confidentiality, it will remain in place until you cancel it again.

Step by step

  1. Switch confidentiality on or off online.
  2. The confidentiality will be activated or cancelled immediately.
